Bright cherry and raspberry pervade this complex layered wine. Cinnamon, clove, leather, cigar box, and chocolate serve as delicious counterpoints to the red berry fruit. A serious wine with excellent color and firm yet silky tannins.
This California Merlot expresses aroma of deep dark cherry, blueberry, and spice. This gorgeous montage of aroma is supported by densely textured, silky body that is soft and pleasing on the palate. The quality of this wine is further demonstrated by the harmonious balance of finely polished tannin and ripe and supple fruit. All of this is beautifully held together by a pleasant acidity that makes it a favored match for well-prepared food. This merlot is a natural for grilled meats, sausages, pasta with tomato sauce, and medium to bold cheese. Try this wine with, grilled pork tenderloin rubbed with Napa Valley whole-grain mustard and rosemary.
Dark ruby color. Fully ripe plummy aromas with hints of dark chocolate, subtle herbs and black cherry herald similarly intense fruit flavors. Medium-full bodied, with a velvety texture and ripe, lush fruit balanced by subtle acidity and mild tannins. This Coastal Merlot is juicy and deep.

Deep ruby-red. Slightly reduced aromas of black raspberry and bitter chocolate. Highly concentrated and vinous, with sweet, creamy-rich yet sharply delineated flavors of superripe blackberry and leather. Impressively structured Echezeaux, finishing long and firmly tannic.
This Baron Herzog Merlot is soft and approachable. It's fruit-forward, with distinct strawberry jam and berry aromas finishing with notes of French oak. Well integrated tannins and medium body are smoothly offset by balancing acidity.
This merlot has produced a wine of the medium body and bright color. Full of intense balck plum, blackberry, briar, toast, cedar and a light vanilla note. There are very fine, medium tannins and a full mid-palate. Acidity is uplifting and refreshing balancing a dense core of red and black fruit flavors.
A light fruity inexpensive wine from Beringer.
"The 2005 Merlot is approachable and delicious, and I'm particularly pleased with the balance of ripe fruit and soft tannins in this wine. It is full of blackberry and boysenberry flavors, followed by a satisfying finish. This wine is well suited to a variety of foods – I've enjoyed it with everything from chicken to steak."
