93 POINTS!!!
Bright, dark red. Subdued but complex nose offers raspberry, red cherry, rose petal and smoky underbrush; lovely lift and perfume. Sweet and vinous, with excellent energy and cut to the red fruit and floral flavors. Very fine-grained, fresh wine that really transcends the vintage. Finishes with firm but noble tannins and terrific subtle persistence. This was even more brisk with extended aeration, suggesting that it will be better for a bit of patience.
A big, bold, rich and expressive style that packs in lots of flavor, yet manages to be elegant and stylish without being heavy. Deep, perfumed currant, floral, spice and berry flavors coat the palate, ending with ripe, integrated tannins. Drink now through 2014. 1,750 cases made.
95 POINTS!!!
Gorgeous aromas of crushed plum and fig lead the way for this very dense but remarkably supple offering, loaded with additional blackberry and boysenberry fruit, all laid over Turkish coffee, violet, pastis, licorice and charred mesquite notes. This has a long, long finish. Best from 2010 through 2016. 728 cases made. –JM THE WINE SPECTATOR

93+ POINTS, Robert Parker, Jr., The Wine Advocate, February 2005
“Possesses aromas of white flowers intermixed with spice box, licorice, black currants, raspberries, cherries, toasty oak, and background scents of volcanic/scorched earth. With lovely richness, medium to full body, impressive purity, and a long, heady finish, it should hit its peak in 3-4 years, and last through 2020+.”
The brilliant Cabernet Sauvignon, by winemaker John Gibson, boasts a deep ruby/purple color as well as an elegant perfume of black currants, licorice, cedar, and subtle toasty oak. It is medium to full-bodied with sweet tannin, and a long, elegant finish. It should drink beautifully for 15 or more years.
The nose is very refined and elegant, with fragrant, sweet aromas. The aromas are well integrated, with harmony between the fruity and balsamic notes. The palate is consistent and elegant, from the attack, through the mid-palate to the finish. The aftertaste matches the characteristics of the aromas giving a long, pleasant finish. These are the characteristics of Guado al Tasso as it is released onto the market - a wine with great class and a high potential for ageing in bottle.
On release, Tignanello 2006 has a very intense ruby red color and balanced ripe red fruit and spicy aromas on the nose. It is has a full, rich and round rich palate, dense without hiding its great elegance and complexity. A powerful wine, yet fine and pleasant to drink, with good length and an aftertaste packed with chocolate and citrus fruits. The tannins are pronounced, but smooth and silky, which, together with balanced acidity, assures Tignanello good ageing potential.
Darker, richer still. A little cassisy reduction is noticeable but not really a problem. Fine tannins, more heavily emphasised on the finish. Refreshing, mouth watering acid. That said, a little closed at the moment.
