Senador Crianza comes from Spain's Extremadura region which lies close to Portugal. The subdistrict takes its name from the River Guadiana. One doesn't expect refinement from such a hot climate, but this wine delivers attractive, rich fruit as well as suppleness, balance, and a pleasing hint of oak.
This is an irresistible blend of Bordeaux varietals from A portfolio of first-class blocks in Napa vineyards. The composition of the wine is 51% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot. The dense purple-hued 2007 Four Voices possesses abundant notes of sweet cassis interwoven with acacia flowers and crushed rocks. Deep and medium to full-bodied with excellent texture, richness, and sweetness, it should drink beautifully for two decades or more.
Fragrances of lively lemon zest, nectarine, and Gravenstein apple open the 2006 Russian River Chardonnay. A vivid, austere mouthfeel reveals the delicate balance of earthy minerality, citrus fruit and toasted brioche. Sur-lies aging imparts this crisp, clean wine with an exquisite long finish, accented by notes of crème brulee, graham cracker and clove.
Intense cherry red with ruby highlights. Complex bouquet, harmoniously combining fruity aromas with those of crianza. Meaty and well structured to the palate. Long, subtle aftertaste.
