95 POINTS!!!
This young Port shows intense aromas of black licorice and berries. It's full-bodied, with superfine tannins and a long, long finish. Seductive. Fantastic young Port from Churchill. Best ever. Best after 2012. 2,000 cases made.
Very subtle with custard, flan and hints of fruit and caramel. Medium-bodied, with a light sweetness and a nutty, light toffee aftertaste. Made for hard cheese. Churchill knows how to make very good Port. Drink now. 2,500 cases made.
91 POINTS!!!
Aromas of blackberry, mineral and lead pencil follow through to a full-bodied, chewy and rich palate. Still tannic and rich. Quite dry for a Vintage Port. Needs time to come around. Raisiny aftertaste. Big wine. Better than I remember. '77/'85/'97 blind Port retrospective. Best after 2009. 5,000 cases made.
Well-balanced and offering some of the complexity associated with mature vi ntage port, spicy and cherry-like with a hint of vanilla, with velvety tann ins and firm structure.
Cockburns Special Reserve is the worlds most popular premium port. Special Reserve is a medium dark ruby color, with a deep garnet edge. The blend has a clean aroma, showing maturity and finesse, with a hint of dried plums. Off dry to medium sweet, Special Reserve has a rich, mellow texture and smooth tannin structure, with a long, satisfying finish.
Fine Tawny is aged for about the same amount of time as Cockburn's Fine Ruby (about three years), but in smaller barrels to hasten aging to a reddish amber (tawny) color and to develop a smoother, nutty flavor.
A striking, individualistic nose of spring flowers, blackberries, bluberries, and lead pencil shavings emerges from this saturated purple colored 2000. Anticipated maturity 2007-2025.
Bright and beautiful honey, toffee, caramel and a touch of nuts. A vibrant, sweet Port of lovely, delicate structure. Can't put it down. 2,000 cases imported.
Big and thick, offering loads of nut, toffee and crème brûlée character. Full-bodied and very sweet. Still shows grip but it's fresh and balanced with good acidity.
