Chateau Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 750 ml

Deep, saturated color is just one of the hallmarks of our Estate Cabernet, and this inky purple beauty shows great intensity all the way to the edge of the glass. The nose is loaded with rich aromas of black fruits and spices. Notes of blackberry solicit memories of hot summer afternoons while clove, allspice, vanilla, and hints of cocoa tease with thoughts of baked goodies. Emerging from these layers is a core of brandied cherries, light oak, and a hint of anise. This wine shows a smooth entry that steadily builds to a full, fleshy mid-palate, then evolves seamlessly into a rich, spicy finish that invites you back for more. The black fruits from the nose are evident throughout the palate, and are complemented by lively, red fruit characteristics brought forward by the core of bright acidity. There are loads of fine grain tannins that give mass to the wine without being aggressively astringent, hinting at the delicacy and suppleness that will come with time in the cellar.

Chateau Montelena Napa Cabernet Sauvignon 750 ml

We’re sure most of you know of Chateau Montelena, but for those just coming into the wine world, this is one of THE wineries in the Napa Valley. It was Chateau Montelena’s Chardonnay that won the white wine category at the Paris Tasting of 1976 (a tasting that put California wines at the head of the pack by beating the French on French soil), and it is now their Cabernets, as well, that are regarded as “go to” wines for their consistent quality. This Cabernet has some of Montelena’s estate fruit, and fruit from other Napa vineyards who grow Cabernet to the same standard as Chateau Montelena. A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc, the nose opens with huge intensity, great depth, and lots of layers. Big fruit aromas of black cherry, bright red berries and plums all lead into the barrel notes of toasty oak, vanilla and smoky undertones. Smooth, yet with firm tannin, there is a great progression from ripe, sweet cherry and plum fruit up-front to rich, dried black fruit and spice on the finish, with the vanilla and spice from the barrel layering in seamlessly.

Chateau Ste Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon 750 ml

This Cabernet Sauvignon highlights concentrated Washington State red fruit in an accessible style. It has plenty of complexity and structure, and is also very versatile with food--try it with beef, pork or pasta.

Chimney Rock Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 750 ml

This youthfully full-bodied, grippy wine has juicy cassis and a leathery texture at its core, with dried herb and cedar playing at its edges, a fine representation of a tannic vintage that offers structure in spades. Densely concentrated, it has ages to go in the bottle; drink now through 2023.
